Course Registration

This is a closed course for active POPS members only. A completion badge and certificate will be provided at the end of the course. You must attend all 6 sessions in full to receive this accreditation.

 

Heads up! If you cannot make the live sessions, a recording will be made available for special circumstances. Please reach out to joanna@peopleopssociety.com in advance and we can accommodate you. Completion of all sessions and course workbooks will still be required to qualify for the certification. Members are eligible to take/start this course after the first class has begun.

SESSION 1

Benefit Plan Goals + Package Design

March 15, 2021 | 5:30 - 6:50 pm EST

Starting out with the bigger picture we’ll discuss and work through how to plan your benefits package around your internal and external goals as a business. We’ll define your internal audience and how to think about the setup, structure and general buy-in for your benefit package.

SESSION 2

Core Benefits Part 1: All About Healthcare

March 22, 2021 | 5:30 - 6:50 pm EST

How it works. How it’s priced. What affects the cost. When to look at self-insurance. All the things about purchasing healthcare coverage for your team. #allthethings You’ll walk out of this session confident and ready to talk health plans when we’re done!

SESSION 3

Core Benefits Part 2: Non-Healthcare Must Haves

March 29, 2021 | 5:30 - 6:50 pm EST

We’ll cover the major voluntary benefits (vision, dental, life/disability, CI/AI/HI, etc.) and how they work, important distinctions, and things to consider as well as which populations they work best for. In addition, we’ll review enrollment strategies, value-adds to look for, and important cost/benefit information.

SESSION 4

Designing Benefits for Generations & DE&I Support

April 12, 2021 | 5:30 - 6:50 pm EST

Which perks and benefits are best for each generation? Different and diverse groups of people? We’ll discuss which benefits to consider based on your population's needs, new trends to be aware of and how to make sure your benefits are in line with your DE&I goals.

SESSION 5

Educating Employees & Communicating Benefits

April 19, 2021 | 5:30 - 6:50 pm EST

Education and communication are critically important to ensuring satisfaction from your plans. We’ll teach you how to effectively communicate and give voice to your employee experience, year round. We’ll discuss best practices for benefits education, effective enrollment, and a manageable yet effective communication cadence for engagement.

SESSION 6

Key Considerations & The Benefits Ecosystem

April 26, 2021 | 5:30 - 6:50 pm EST

Total rewards, executive buy-in, compliance, managing spend, wellness programs, funding mechanisms, PEO considerations, etc. We’ll cover all the big questions and loose ends that might still be of concern. In addition, we’ll discuss the partnerships and services you should be considerate of when changing or adding to your benefits strategy (technologies, resources, overall program management, etc.).
